What is Brightoncisco?

Someone proposed that Brighton could be the 'next Silicon Valley'. Someone else said it was more like another San Francisco. There is a lot of activity around startups and tech industries here. There are two universities and a lot of talent. But some things seem to be missing. Maybe it's the VCs. Maybe it's the networking. Maybe something else. Let's work it out.

Holding Open Coffee on London Rd?

As we seem to have fumbled open coffee in Starbucks, I wonder whether we should give it a try as per Graeme's suggestion at the new Costa Coffee on London Rd - this having the advantage that it is right next door to the Snipperoo cluster at BLONE (Between LOndon road and New England development). It's a great environment, a cool space for a good social meet.

Brighton OpenCoffee restarting

We've decided to restart Brighton OpenCoffee on wednesday mornings. For the moment we'll have them at the North Laines Starbucks, but I'm looking at a new venue with free wifi. Meetings from 10am - 12am. Completely casual, turn up, drink coffee, chat, show, discuss. Whether there are two or fifty people present it's a success.
